I really tried to think of a more clever title, but let's be real: if you're anything like me (AKA a woman), you're going to want to know about The Conversation, the website and TV show by Amanda de Cadenet. When I was scrolling through for the first time, I felt as if almost every article was written to me, maybe even for me. There are episodes of the show available to watch on the website that feature female authors, celebrities, and even politicians talking so honestly and openly about life. As Amanda put it, "It is my genuine desire that this site will be a space that refuses to judge, criticise or separate women from one another." What I really love about the show is how while many of the women Amanda interviews are mothers, they find other things to talk about than their babies (which, as I'm sitting on my couch at the end of a day filled with my own very mobile and mischievous baby, is quite welcome). They talk about their bodies after childbirth (not everything settles down exactly where it once was, now does it?), they talk about postpartum depression, they talk about marriage, and they talk about career. It's just so refreshing to hear a no-holds-barred conversation when a lot of times it seems like the tendency is to cover up our "flaws" and pretend that everything is perfect.
I highly encourage you to visit immediately and let me know what you think!
