Today started out rather sleepily. I put on some coffee for Parker and myself (accidentally forgetting to pour the water into the coffee maker- fail) and the three of us sat in the living room. Scratch that- two of us sat and one of us was bouncing happily in his bouncer. We sat like this for a little while, sipping away, and then decided to go on an outing to the library. Once we got there, Miles and I headed to the children's section of the library while Parker went to find his books. While Miles and I were reading one of the cute cardboard books, a little boy (who seemed to be around four) came up to us and started talking and playing with Miles. It was really sweet.
I think that one of my hopes is for Miles to enjoy reading like Parker and I do. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, whether it a magazine, and online article, or a new novel. When we were planning Miles's nursery when I was pregnant, we decided our theme would be Adventureland. Diving into a good story is one of the first ways we can encourage Miles to live a life of adventure!
How was your Monday?

i love the library! Great for kids and adults. I think my Monday would have been better had I gone!
What happens when you put the coffee but not the water in the coffeemaker? I have not done that yet but I've come close several times =(
Oh my gosh, that photo of Miles is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's so chubby and cute sitting in that perfect white chair! I can hardly stand it! I hope he grows up loving books too but if he's like my son, he'll go through stages. My son used to read like 5-6 entire books with us. Well, we did most of the reading. He loved to point and ask what things were. But for the last 2 months, he's not into reading. Maybe just 1 book at a time. I know he'll come around to liking books again though! Not that we read very much :(. Not the best examples. PS My coffeemaker stopped working when I did that fail once!
@ Sable- well, it beeped (letting me know that there was no water in it), and I think I should've waited for the machine to cool down before adding the water because it made a big hiss and lots of steam came out and it scared me! But it still worked afterward.
@Lisa: Thanks!! I love how intently he was staring at the book- so cute! I think it's fine to not be a reader- my brother has always been a more hands-on kinda guy and it suits him perfectly!
Oh my goodness...I am new to your blog, but this post made me so happy! your picture is darling and I have a son with the middle name Miles, and we love the library : ) ha... I would love it if you'd share this on my blog's life lately link up : )

What a cute photo! Love it. I'll bet you were quick to take this, as I know I'd be biting my nails imagining my baby toppling onto the floor. Eek! Visiting from the Monday Mingle.
